Now, let's be clear: Silent Hill 2 is still an amazing game and one of my Top5 ever but if you're not 100% into the story there's almost nothing that keeps you going. It's a game from late 2001, yes, but even back then the old RE episodes and other adventure games had better pacing, better puzzles and most of all better action. That's OK for an hospital but a prison could've been more interesting and yet you always explore very similar maps. Locations are too repetitive with all the doors and corridors in every single place. Oh and they're not even scary except for the legendary Pyramid Head. Bosses too, can be dealt with in a matter of seconds if you know their limited patterns.
